Communications Coordinator

Location: Vancouver, BC (Hybrid)
Hours/Type: 3 month contract | 32 hours/week | Entry-Level
Compensation: $28/hour

About the Role
The Communications Specialist plays a key role in supporting client projects across public affairs, digital engagement, and strategic communications under the direction of senior strategists. This position is responsible for researching policy issues, drafting content, managing digital platforms, supporting client deliverables, and executing project tasks that keep campaigns moving forward effectively.

The ideal candidate is curious, organized, and detail-oriented, with a genuine interest in communications and a service-minded approach to supporting both clients and colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Research & Analysis – support Associates in monitoring government activity, media, and industry trends; and preparing backgrounders, stakeholder maps, and briefing notes.
  • Communications Support – Draft and edit client materials including news releases, newsletters, and social media content.
  • Digital Engagement – Assist with email campaigns, CRM updates, and website edits.
  • Project Coordination – Track timelines and deliverables, organize materials for client meetings, and support internal workflows.
  • Creative & Technical Collaboration – Work with designers, web developers, and digital platforms to help execute campaigns and reports.
  • Reporting & Insights – Help gather data and produce summaries that inform client strategy and performance reporting.

Qualifications

  • Completed courses in political science, digital marketing, communications, business, or a related field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities; able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Curiosity about how public policy, communications, and digital tools intersect.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and documentation.
  • Experience with digital platforms such as WordPress, Mailchimp, Action Network, or CRM systems is an asset.
  • Proficiency in standard office and digital tools with the ability to quickly learn new technologies (e.g., project management software, CRM platforms, Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, etc.
  • Ability to work independently while also being a collaborative team player.

This is a Canada Summer Jobs supported position. Applicants must be:

  • between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment;
  • a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, S.C. 2001, c. 27*; and
  • legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial / territorial legislation and regulations.
